I guested last month at Mirror Man Festival in Winchester. The electro all dayer was headlined by a Gary Numan DJ set and regular readers of the blog will know how hyped that got me.
I always DJ my nuts off when I play in Winchester, don’t ask my why but it always goes ridiculously well. No pressure then walking to this one. I felt like I pulled it off. Here’s the setlist so you can judge for yourselves;
William’s blood – Grace Jones (Aeroplane RMX)
Metal horse – Simon Bookish
Entertain me – Softcell
So agitated – Trademark
Numbers – Kraftwerk
The dead eyes opened – Severed Heads
Messages – Filthy Dukes
Radio Ladio – Metronomy
Pump – Errors
Skeleton boy – Friendly Fires
You were always on my mind – Pet Shop Boys
Miserable girl – Soulwax
Anyway you choose to give it – Black Ghosts
Trash – The Whip
Battle Royale – Does It Offend You, Yeah?
Roll on Mirror Man 2010!
Big thanks to Jim and Stu for sorting me out with the slot. Cheers guys. It means a lot.
Firstly a big THANK YOU to one and all for your support. It is only through you coming and dancing your asses off each week that we are celebrating this, the first of what I hope will be many, mile stones.
This Friday (13th of March,) we are having a very special party to mark the occasion and express our gratitude;
(Click here for Facebook event)
Now this week only it is £3 entry, partly so we could bring you a truly monstrously good bill of acts and partly so we could make it that little bit more exclusive and keep it to just the right people (namely you).
That said we expect a sell out. Please make sure you are down as attending on the event as we want to give No Fiction Group members priority entry.
Playing we have
LOSERS – Eddie Temple-Morris (XFM DJ and all round top chap) and Tom Bellamy (of The Cooper Temple Clause also a spiffing bloke). Together they plot a leyline through the electro rock multiverse. Prepare your ears for a full awakening.
MIDIMIDIS – These 8 Bit wonder kids were the first ever band to play No Fiction and since then have been carving out quite the name for themselves. Seemed only right to have them back for our half birthday. If DFA 1979 wrote using a speak and spell…
REVOLUTION – Another popular No Fiction act back literally by public demand. I remember after they last played this girl turned round to me mouth open and ejaculated; ‘I never like rock music but I never knew rock could sound like THAT before!’ Seeing is believing.

BEER & BOTTLES ON CHEAP DEALS!
Yes, there are loads of drinks deals at Power’s like Kronenberg £2.50 a pint all night, ask at the bar for details of all the crazy discounts.
ACCELERATED TOOTH CAVITIES!
Wouldn’t be a party with out something sweet so loads of mini edible goodies for you lot throughout the do.
AND DJS TOO!
All your regular Dark Disco, Ulterior Indie, WTF Electro & Shock Rock
Check out the event for Map, times and to ensure your priority entry.
